An award....sort of!!

I have to say a great big thank you to Jo for awarding this to me. I did get this award last year sometime but accidentally deleted it from my blog layout! I'm not quite sure who nominated me last time but forgive me for not displaying it!
I am finding it difficult getting enough time to post anything these days so I thought I would answer the questions Jo set, but probably wont have time to nominate other blogs I read simply because of the time aspect. I would say though that any of the blogs I follow/read deserve an award because I enjoy reading them all. So go on, pick any of them and have a good read!!!!
Jo's questions- here goes.

1. Who from history would you most like to meet?
A.My great great great grandad Alfred, who was transported to Australia as a convict in 1820 aged 20, for the crime of Highway Robbery, he stole a leather bound note book and a hawkers licence.I would like to know what drove him to it (extreme poverty I suspect), and all about his journey, his life in Aus as a convict and what happened to him when he was granted a pardon. I don't know whether Jo meant someone famous but I can't think of anyone who would interest me as much as Alfred.

2. Favourite day of the week and why?
A. Thats easy, friday. My day off and the day I usually get to see my two youngest grandchildren. And its the weekend of course!

3. If you had a super power what would it be?
A. I don't know if it's a superpower but if it is I would choose time travel.

4. Dream holiday destination
A. New England

5. Favourite TV programme
A. At the moment it is Call The Midwife.

6. Favourite subject at school
A. I liked French and Latin

7. Teenage crush
A. I'm sure if you have read my blog for a while you will be screaming 'Donny Osmond' !

8. Last film you saw at the cinema
A.' Wreck it Ralph' with my grandchildren

9. Starter or dessert
A. Dessert definitely.

10.Red or white wine?
A. Neither, I rarely drink alcohol, it makes me ill!

11. What would you like to be remembered for ?
A. That I loved and was loved.

If any of you would like to answer those questions on a blog post please feel free! It will be good to read your answers.

Looking forward to the weekend, we have both got  next week off work and are going away for a few days to Leicestershire. What are you looking forward to this weekend?

  1. Hi Anne, congrats on the award. I like how you are doing this as when I received the award last year, it was very time consuming and I didn't get very much feed back, so I don't accept one any more. Like you, just hearing everyones normal comments is award enough. How interesting it would be if you knew more about your g-g-grandfather. You should research it, it would make a great post. Thank you so much for your kind comments to me..Happy Wednesday..Judy

  2. I have been given this award too.I started preparing my answers and questions and it will probably be a few days before I get round to it.While it is lovely to get this it is very time consuming and my typing isn't very fast.I think I may do a shortened version as well.

  6. We were both awarded the Liebster Award and this one is my third one so I am putting a little note on the side that I no longer accept them. They do take a lot of time but I will give it my best and it is interesting that my questions are different from yours. Congrats to you.
