It's finally finished and is going to its new home this afternoon, what am I going on about ? The baby pram blanket.I have enjoyed making it and it has certainly been a learning curve, I would do another one differently but am pleased I managed to finish it.It's certainly bright, don't the experts reckon you should use bright colours for baby instead of pastel? Anyway, here it is, ta da!
We can't wait to have our first baby Abigail cuddle later!
Last night we babysat for my youngest son's 4 children.I took along some coloured card and pieces of felt and fabric and they all set to and each made their own Mothers Day card.
What is it about kids and glueing? The stickier and messier they get the better they like it. Littlest grandson A was covered in Pritt stick and his card was too. Their finished cards are lovely and I think their mum will be pleased on Sunday.I love doing things like this with them, they love making things and I will so miss them when they emigrate.Only 7 weeks now and counting down.
We are going away tomorrow for a few days break and had completely forgotten tomorrow was Mothers' Day when we booked it. I am looking forward to our little jaunt even though the weather forecast is grim.Cold, possible snow showers....yuk. Thought we had finished with those.Anyway, our plans to visit the Leicester records office (on a family history research quest) and the national space museum wont be affected since they are indoors.
Marmalade is going to the cattery tomorrow morning for a few days. Although her corneal ulcer has now cleared she still has a problem with her eye lid 'walling in' and has to have liquid tears put in 3 x daily so they have agreed to do it. We are having her looked at by an opthalmologist next week when we get back to see if he can do anything about it, otherwise our vet thinks she will continue to have more problems with it.Thankfully she is insured so we can claim the cost back. I know some people think it is expensive to insure your animal ( and yes,I would agree it most definitely is) but I reckon that if she has to have surgery on her eye then along with the cost a few years back to her broken leg we will have more than covered the cost of the insurance along the way.I just hope that now she is older (almost 12) we don't get our premiums bumped up or even worse refused altogether.
Anyway, I'm off to do a bit of packing now then we are baby visiting!! Have you got anything nice planned?

We hope later in the summer to book a holiday in Radnorshire so we can do some family history research in that area. Hope you are successful with yours.

Congrats on your anniversary and enjoy your meal.
DeleteLove the colors on your blanket, what a nice keepsake for your grandchild. Four sweet grandchildren with glue, felt, and markers always makes for a fun time and interesting art projects! Enjoy your weekend and Happy Mothers Day
ReplyDeleteThanks Paulette X
DeleteThe pram blanket is wonderful, I haven't attempted anything other than granny squares yet, but I'd like to have a go at something like this, or a ripple. How lovely for your grandchildren to make Mother's Day cards, the home made ones are always so much more special. Have a lovely time on you little jaunt. Hope you're successful at the records office, and you'll have a great time at the space centre, it's really interesting. Are you still going to see the Richard the 3rd exhibition? I'd love to go there, I bet it's fascinating. Keeping my fingers crossed for Marmalade, hope she manages to get her eye sorted out.
